Student Literacy

Deaf children typically have English language literacy rates that fall well behind their hearing peers. Elementary school children who are struggling to learn and understand written English are provided with a skilled, qualified tutor to work with them on a one-on-one basis to improve their comprehension of written English. Tutors are Deaf and instruct using American Sign Language. Parental engagement is strongly encouraged.
