American Sign Language Courses
Deaf and Hard of Hearing Society is Calgary’s premier provider of American Sign Language (ASL) courses. We offer the curriculum-based series Signing Naturally at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Unique to DHHS is a family-focused ASL course emphasizing vocabulary commonly used within the home.
All courses are taught by qualified Deaf instructors.
We will customize an American Sign Language course for your organization. Minimum 8 participants. Call us for more information.

Signing Naturally 101
25 hours
(students without textbook) $275 + GST: $288.75
Signing Naturally 102 or 103 25 hours (students with textbook) $225 + GST: $236.25
Family Focused American Sign Language
16 hours
(fee waiver can be requested if low income) $100 + GST: $105
Refreshers 2 hours $25 + GST: $26.25
ASL @ Work
(Professional Development course)
14 hours
Lunch provided
Non-profit organizations:
$200 + GST ($210) for the first person; $150 + GST (($157.50) for each additional person from the same organization
For-profit organizations:
$250 + GST ($262.50) for the first person; $200 + GST ($210) for each additional person from the same organization
Customized courses
Minimum 6 hours recommended $150 + GST ($157.50) per instructional hour

Course Withdrawal Policy
Refunds/Transfers/Withdrawals
- Refunds are not issued once classes have begun or for non-attendance.
- An administrative fee of $25 will be charged for each withdrawal request; however, the administrative fee will be waived for a transfer to another course.
- Refunds will only be issued if withdrawal is requested at least 5 business days (Monday-Friday) prior to course start.
- A full refund will be given if a course is cancelled by DHHS.

Any qualifying refunds will be processed within 10 business days.
