In Alberta, there are approximately 600,000 men, women and children who are hard of hearing and 6,000 of them are Deaf. That’s nearly one in six people who experience the daily challanges and communication barriers of this “invisible” diversity.

DHHS has been proudly enhancing the lives of people who are Deaf, deafened and hard of hearing since 1961 by providing important programs and services that enable active participation in the broader community.
